1993-1995

German born Sam started at Yorkshire Main before a few non-league moves ended with a transfer to Leyton Orient in the summer of 1992. He moved to Rovers in February 1994. After his stay at Belle Vue, he moved to Gateshead, where he soon became the club captain, and was known as one of their best defenders for many years, being cool, calm, and able to handle difficult situations. After a move to nearby Bishop Auckland, he returned to Gateshead in late November 2001.
